Meet Dr. Mary Angelic Gangoy-Leonard
Dr. Mary Angelic Gangoy, DMD, is a proud native of New York who has dedicated her career to transforming smiles. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Albany before graduating with honors from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Afterward, she completed her orthodontic residency at Tufts, where she received a Certificate in the Specialty of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
During her time at Tufts, Dr. Gangoy participated in the university's research program, becoming affiliated with the Robert Andrews Honor Society and the International Association of Dental Research. Her academic and clinical excellence led to her induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the international dental honor society, and she was awarded the prestigious Furman-Rosenberg Scholarship.
Dr. Gangoy has also been an active member of her professional community, serving as a representative for her local dental society on the Council on Access Prevention & Inter-professional Relations. She has contributed her time and leadership to the Wakefield Rotary’s Board of Directors and co-chaired the organization’s 20th annual 6K road race.
As a clinician, Dr. Gangoy takes immense pride in helping children and teens improve their growth and development through orthodontic treatment. She also has a strong passion for aesthetic orthodontic techniques such as 3M iBraces and Invisalign, particularly among adult patients. Dr. Gangoy is highly attuned to her adult patients' aesthetic concerns and works with them to craft customized treatment plans that align with their needs.
Dr. Gangoy was honored as "Best Orthodontist 2024" by America’s Best Dentists, a testament to her commitment to excellence in the field.
Outside of the office, Dr. Gangoy enjoys spending time with her two sons and has a passion for interior design and contemporary art. She is also a fashion enthusiast and stays physically active by running and attending spin classes.
